Day 1
Australia – Kuala Lumpur
Depart Australia for Kuala Lumpur and on arrival transfer to
your hotel adjacent to the airport.

2
Kualu Lumpur - Saigon (D)
You are met at the airport and transferred to your central
city hotel. After freshening up you are taken on an orientation
tour of this vibrant city. This evening there is a group welcome
dinner.

Day 3
Saigon City Tour (B)
Commencing your tour of this historical city you visit many
landmarks, including the Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral,
former Presidential Palace, War Remnants Museum, Cholon and
the Binh Tay market, Father Tam’s Catholic Church where
President Ngo Dinh Diem and his brother hid themselves in
1963, and the Ben Thanh markets, where your bartering skills
will be tested.

Day 4
Saigon - Vung Tau (B L)
This morning you travel south by hydrofoil to the sea side
resort of Vung Tau. After booking into your hotel you visit
the White Villa, the fishing village located behind the hills
and the former area known as “Flags”. After lunch
at the hotel you visit back beach, although nothing remains
of the Peter Badcoe Club or 1 ALSG you can visit the beach
opposite, now a Vietnamese favourite, and take a dip or swim
in the South China Sea. You will also visit the massive VC
Memorial located where 1 ALSG HQ once was. (Your major belongings
may be left with the Grand hotel and a smaller bag for the
3 nights can be carried with you)

Day 5
Vung Tau – Long Tan – Nui Dat –
Saigon (B L)
This mornings travels take you to the Long Tan Battlefield
passing what is left of the Horseshoe on the way. (The Horseshoe
was mined several years ago and entry is no longer permitted)
You visit the former Task Force Base Nui Dat and the township
of Hoa Long. A boxed lunch is provided at Long Phuoc and you
return to Saigon late afternoon.

6
Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnels (B L)
You travel northwest to this former underground VC village,
stopping en route to watch rice paper being made. After viewing
the tunnel systems you may wish to visit the rifle range where
for approximately $1.00 US per round you can fire a variety
of weapons including an AK47 or M16 assault rifle. (The rifle
range is currently closed for renovations and the opening
date is not known) After lunch on the picturesque river you
return to Saigon, arriving back mid afternoon.

Day 7
Saigon - Mekong Delta - Ben Tre (B L)
After breakfast you take a scenic drive south to the Mekong
Delta and on arrival board your private motorised boat and
travel the tributaries of the Mekong Delta. You explore the
Island on a horse drawn cart and then sit down to a traditional
lunch with seasonal fruits. After a relaxing break you board
an oared Sampan and travel along the peaceful canals under
the shadows of the water coconut trees.

Day 8
Saigon – Danang – Hoi An (B D)
After breakfast you transfer to the airport for your flight
north to Danang. You are met at the airport and driven the
short distance south to the former trading port of Hoi An.
After booking into your hotel you lunch and then take a walking
tour along the narrow streets and cross the 400 year old Japanese
covered bridge and visit ancient houses, galleries and a silk
tailor shop, Hoi An retains the feel of centuries past. Mid
afternoon you can relax by the swimming pool and prepare yourself
for a group evening dinner in a river side restaurant.

Day 9
Hoi An – Danang – Hoi An (B L)
Mid morning you take the short drive to Danang to visit the
unique Marble Mountains. Providing the weather and your fitness
allows you can at your pace make the long climb to the top
and enter Huyen Khong cave. You will be rewarded with magnificent
views of Danang, the surrounding mountains and China beach.
Those unable to make the climb can visit the marble factory
to learn and watch how the statues are carved. Next you visit
the Cham museum with its artefacts dating from the 7th to
the 15th centuries, and the original China Beach.
Hoi An Hotel.

10
Hoi An – Danang – Lang Co Beach –
Hue (B L)
Mid morning you farewell Hoi An and travel by road north across
the stunning Hai Van Pass, stopping at Lang Co Beach for lunch.
After a relaxing stop in this scenic area, you continue your
drive to Hue and on arrival book into your hotel.

Hue (B)
After breakfast you take a cruise by Dragon boat along the
scenic Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda. Returning to
your hotel you freshen up and then take an orientation tour
of this historic city and visit the magnificent Royal Citadel,
surrounded by a moat, the defensive wall is 10 kilometres
long and encompassed within is the Imperial Closure and the
Forbidden Purple City.

Day 12
Hue – Hanoi (B)
You breakfast and then transfer to the airport for your flight
to Hanoi. After booking into your hotel and freshening up
you board a cyclo for a fun ride around this historic city
with its blend of French, Chinese and Vietnamese architecture.
You will visit the bustling Old Quarter with its 36 streets
which were formally named after the products sold and where
for centuries peddlers have traded their wares. This evening
you attend the world popular water puppet show.

Day 13
Hanoi City Tour (B)
Today you visit several landmarks, including, the Ho Chi Minh
Mausoleum, the former Presidential Palace, the modest stilt
house of President Ho Chi Minh, One Pillar Pagoda built in
1049, Hoan Kiem Lake (Lake of the Restored Sword) the Army
Museum and former POW Prison “the Hanoi Hilton”.

Day 14
Hanoi – Halong City – Halong Bay
(B L D)
After breakfast you depart for Halong City, stopping en route
at the Bat Trang Pottery Village. On arrival in Halong City
you board your private boat for an overnight stay on Halong
Bay. After cruising among the rocky limestone Islands of natures
wonder you disembark to visit the Thien Cung Cave which is
one of the more spectacular grottoes. Bring your swimming
gear; the boat will anchor in the calm waters of this scenic
wonderland allowing you to swim in safety and privacy. May
we suggest an overnight bag for the trip to Halong City; your
other belongings can be left safely at your hotel in Hanoi

15
Halong City – Hanoi (B D)
After breakfast you disembark from the boat and board the
bus for your return journey to Hanoi, stopping en route for
a refreshment stop. After booking into your hotel your day
is at leisure to relax shop or continue your sightseeing of
this historic city. The Temple of Literature is worth a visit.
Tonight you attend a group farewell dinner.

16
Hanoi – Australia (B)
Late morning you transfer to the airport for your flights
to Kuala Lumpur where you board your overnight flights to
your home states.
